Museum of Saint James now National Museum West tells of how the parish was developed as the stronghold of ‘King Sugar’ and plantation slavery. Home to National Hero Sam Sharpe, it documents the Christmas Rebellion that directly led to the abolition of Slavery in the British West Indies. The museum recalls when the Banana became ‘King’ in the 20th century, it details the  ascent of Montego Bay as the – playground of the Stars and tourism capital.
